Book Parade

Today we had our book parade as part of our Readers and Writers Festival. The costumes were outstanding and the children looked amazing!!

Art

The artists of Room 4 are at work. They are creating master pieces. 

Large Ball Skills

We have been learning skills required to play sports like soccer, netball and basketball. Our throwing and catching are improving.

Shape

We have been looking at the different shapes we can make and naming them.

Maths

We are practicing making numbers our buddy has written for us on a small whiteboard and then our buddy checks that we have made it correctly. It is then the turn of our buddy.

Reading

We are learning to enjoy reading for a sustained period of time and we call it stamina building. The books we read are those that we have read with our teacher over a number of weeks. They are ones that we want to read again and again. The books are kept in our individual browsing box.

Badminton

Over the last four weeks we have had North Harbour Badminton come to our school to teach badminton . The children have loved the experience and learnt a new sport. They have improved each week .

Making ANZAC biscuits

Today we helped make ANZAC biscuits. We all mixed the dry ingredients and then added the wet ingredients.Next we all stirred the mixture. Our teacher placed them on the baking trays and put them in the oven to cook.

Finally we were able to taste them - the verdict was yummy!!

Throwing to a partner and catching with two hands and then one hand.Some of us were awesome at this.

Badminton

Today we started learning about a shuttlecock and how to catch it. First we caught with two hands and then one hand. Then we added a clap.

Term 2

Welcome to the new term. Our topic this term is light but before that we are learning about the ANZACS. Please take the opportunity to share what you know about this and to ask the children what they know.
